Do you Create with Canva? New Update!

by JackieR | Hot and Mobile

Do you create Instagram or Facebook post using Canva? Then this message is for you. Are you aware of the security breach reported every other week, if not weekly!

It doesn’t matter whether it’s an Apple or Android, security breaches are reported regularly. Expensive smartphones come with privacy and security settings, but it’s left up to the purchaser to change the settings for their own individual preferences.

In my “Cyber Security Workshop” we talk about necessary security steps we can right now to protect ourselves from predators.

Pay Attention to Updates:

I use Canva a lot. It is an amazing online marketing tool for novice designers and experts looking for design templates for Facebook, Instagram, a Presentation, a T-shirt design. It is an amazing tool. So when sent me an email alert, I paid attention. Here it is:

Hi there,

At Canva, we are committed to protecting the data and privacy of all of our users. We believe in open, transparent communication that puts our users’ needs first.

On 1 January 2020, Canva became subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) which safeguards the privacy of users in California. As part of our commitment to providing you the best possible service, we’ve taken the opportunity to make a few other updates to our
Privacy Policy, summarized in this email. If you continue to use Canva, our updated Privacy Policy will apply to your use of the service.

CCPA: The CCPA gives Californian consumers new rights in relation to their personal information. We’ve updated our Privacy Policy to let our Californian users know about their rights and how to exercise them.

Student privacy: We recently introduced Canva for Education – our free creativity tool for classrooms. Our Privacy Policy provides teachers and parents with details about how student data is handled. For our US users, we’re pleased to announce that Canva for Education has been certified COPPA and FERPA compliant.

Improved clarity: At Canva, we’re all about making complex things simple. We’ve made some minor changes to our policy to make it easier to read and to provide more detail around our data handling processes.

Your privacy is important to us, so if you have any questions, please get in touch with us at

Thank you for using Canva, and happy designing!
