New rumors have come across our virtual desk, as a Tuesday report from Economic Daily News say Apple will begin mass production of a new 16-inch MacBook Pro in the fall. Also the previously-rumored 10.2-inch iPad will apparently begin production later this month. The new iPad is said to replace the 2018 iPad.

Rumors of a larger than 9.7-inch iPad were numerous around the end of 2018, with most reports indicating the new tablet would sport a 10.2-inch screen. However, when the new iPad Air debuted in March it boasted a 10.5-inch screen.

While the larger screen size indicates a chassis design change, if it is an entry-level iPad model, we are unlikely to see a radical redesign like that of the iPad Pro.

The report also mentions a 16-inch MacBook Pro that will begin production in the fall. This jibes partially with analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s claims last week about “partially refreshed MacBook Pro” models in 2020. Most analysts expect the 16-inch MacBook Pro to feature thinner bezels and an improved keyboard design.
